When can I start dancing after recovering from glandular fever? |
Blood tests have just confirmed that I have got glandular fever. I have been REALLY unwell and I know that I won't feel better and able to do physical activity for a couple of weeks. However, I am a competitive ballroom and latin dancer and I have been working really hard with my partner as we have numerous competitions coming up. I was looking on the internet at glandular fever and many websites said that you should give it 4-8 weeks before taking up strenuous physical activity. Can anyone tell me, preferably people who have suffered with glandular fever, how long I should wait before going back to dancing? I would say definitely 4-8 weeks. Of course it all depends on how you feel. You're probably going to be wiped out after a dance session & need total rest following. You should 'build up' your activity levels & not go straight into full training. I think it's important to not wear yourself down again & try to remove yourself from stress. |
