Any answers, thoughts or advise is welcome!

Glandular fever (which is called "mononucleosis" here in the United States) is caused by the Epstein-Barr Virus. This is a good tutorial about EBV: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/tutor...

Everyone's experience with EBV is different. Some people recover quickly; some can have fatigue for months. Some people have few or no symptoms; some are very sick.

EBV can cause a temporarily enlarged liver and spleen http://www.kcci.com/2006/0209/6869525.jp... and http://www.umm.edu/graphics/images/en/17... which can increase the risk for these organs rupturing if you do vigorous exercise. However, if these organs are enlarged you will usually have tenderness in those areas, so if you aren't having pain you may be safe to begin your weight training again slowly.

Regarding kissing, EBV is spread through saliva. Some people can occasionally "shed" EBV in their saliva for weeks, months, and even years after their infection. However, since about 90% of the adult population ends up exposed to EBV, there is no need to be paranoid about spreading it; the person you're kissing has probably already had EBV!
