I have glandular Fever and a severe sore throat, i can't eat without horrible pain, should i force myself to? |
I know i need to eat and drink as much as possible but when i do either my throat feels like an open wound being torn apart. I'm hungry but will forcing myself to eat through the pain result in hindering the recovery? Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup!(Extra Noodle Etc.) Drink lots of water if you can - would a straw help? Once I had a (viral, I think) infection very much like what you describe. The only thing I could stand eating (and it actually felt GOOD) was tomato soup, the good old fashioned Campbell's. I made it with water, but if your throat can handle it and you like it, try mixing it with milk instead, to add extra nutrients. Otherwise, make it with water and eat/drink as much as you can stand. The fluids are good for you and you're getting some vitamins and electrolytes as well. If you make it with milk, you're getting protein and even more vitamins/lytes. |
