Does any one know if there are long term effects on a fetus from giardia parasite? |
Does any one know if there are long term effects on a fetus from giardia parasite? How the heck did you get giardia? I think I'd ask my ob/gyn. No there really aren't unless something bizarre happens to damage the fetus, but usually it's miscarried if that happens. As far as I know, giardia only lives in the digestive tract. The antimicrobial meds they give you to kill it may be the more harmful... Check w/ your OB, though. Very good question! Giardia will not affect the fetus, but antiparasitic drugs may be harmful. |
