Why is a cause of many incurable diseases overlooked: Poor science !?

A possible cause of "incurable diseases".

My limited research suggests that many 'incurable diseases' are in fact the result of poor testing into possible bacterial infections that result in false negative tests, that lead to non-treatment of the core problem and resulting complications, we label as diseases. or 'bundled symptoms'.

In one case, a patient was told by a 'disease specialist" that he had IBS, and intestinal problem similar to Crohn's Disease, a disease with no known cause or cure, then some 15 years later an old country doctor told him that he had a simple 'giardia infection', and that one test for giardia is not enough, sometimes you need 4-5 negative tests to prove conclusively that you do not have this common infection.

The inability of modern science to test for common and simple bacteria can result in a variety of symptoms that may be labeled as Crohn's, IBS, with complications resulting in diseases such as M.S., and even some forms of cancer.

Giardiasis (GEE-are-DYE-uh-sis) is a diarrheal illness caused by a one-celled, microscopic parasite, Giardia intestinalis (also known as Giardia lamblia).

Yes indeed giarida is a parasite, like many other parasites that are not properly tested for...

The tests are not black and white...

As a researcher having discovered a negative side to truth, "anti-truths', we should all realize that modern science is sometimes pretty ignorant of the whole Truth of the mater....

Then again, the Canadian / American medical systems profit from having diseases, having symptoms and treating them, over, and over and over again....

Seems the devil is using the medical profession to promote these half-truths, truths that lie...

Ummm... Giardia is not a bacteria, it is a parasite. There is no inability to test for this. How do you know that his doctor didn't do multiple stool cultures? The gold standard test for Giardia is usually an antigen test, not a stool culture and it need be done ONLY once.I cannot imagine a"disease specialist " ( GI) not performing these tests. It's pretty much a given when a person is having intestinal problems. How do you know these tests weren't done ? How do you know what his results were ? You don't have access to his records nor the knowledge to understand the results, course of treatment, nor were you there when your friend sought treatment so you can only speculate and your speculation is way off as it is parasitic. The biggest complication from a giardia infection is malabsorbtion of nutrients anyway. It does not cause neurological disorders like MS. IBS and Chron's are not curable but they are manageable and treatable with some symptoms being so mild they go unoticed.By the way, most long term bacterial infections will be fought off by your own antibodies. You need to learn which type of infection you are talking about before you get on your soap box. I'm sure you will thumbs down this but really, you don't know what you are babbling about. Modern day science is a long way from what it was, but it isn't magic, your doctor really and truly makes educated guesses based on test results, symptoms, response to treatment, etc. They aren't demi gods who can put their hands on you and figure it all out. It's odd that your friend had these multiple diagnoses and NEVER saw another GI or had a scope done. Almost unbelievable and if it is true, then your friend is to blame for not following up on his care, seeking a second opinion, weighing treatment options. We have to assume some responsibility for our own care, don't you agree?

**** I have worked in the medical field for 15 yrs and I have NEVER seen evidence of a doctor "hiding" info or intentionally keeping a patient sick for money reasons. Why would it be worth the $60 they are going to get from insurance ? That is a ludicrious and pretty harsh accusation with serious implications to a physician, who has an oath to heal. Believe me, there are far too many lawyers sitting in the wings like vultures for a doctor to say, "Hmmm, this may be curable but they have good insurance so let's milk it and drag him along for awhile and squeeze a few office visits out of him." That is ridiculous ! Let alone the malpractice insurance fees one has to pay, and every hospital has an ethics commitee to answer to . Did you know that hospital charts are audited at random and submitted for peer review by an unbiased panel ? This is done to make sure mistakes aren't made and that proper care plans are followed. Also,CMS can randomly audit any physician's charts at any given time, so a doctor knows to be thorough and careful. Maybe you should go volunteer at a medical mission or hospital or something and work beside some of these healthcare professionals you are accusing of medical malpractice, insurance fraud, negligence, etc. Like I said, those are very serious and damning accusations to make and one NO physician would take lightly. I am an RN and I would never risk my license to help a doctor make a few bucks. For a doctor, what you are alleging could mean revocation of priveledges, loss of license and even jail time. Most docs I know are too smart or worked too hard to risk everything they have for extra money. You did call Giardia a bacteria, tho. You can edit all you like but you are full of misinformation and conspiracy theories when you don't understand what the full scenario is.Point blank, unless you were in your friend's pocket, you don't know what was going on. And it still boils down to why your friend had these symptoms with a diagnosis that requires regular follow ups to a GI and he was never RETESTED or scoped. It just isn't believable at all. My father has Chron's BTW and he has a colonoscopy done every yr to check for necrosis or ulcerations. And yes, he got a seond opinion because he is smart enough to take charge of his health care. Scary that people like you want to try to perpetuate all these inaccuracies without any real proof of what you are spewing forth.

You are one sad individual who must really have alot of issues to feel like all things are a conspiracy against "the man". Report It

Giardia is a parasite, not a bacterial infection.

Modern first world medicine has a good handle on both parasites and bacterial infections. (Excepting the overuse/misuse antibiotics by both medical professionals and parents that are creating new super bacteria.)

What modern first world medicine doesn't have a handle on are things our bodies do to themselves for unknown reasons. Autoimmune diseases, cancer, etc.
