Is it safe for a woman with ulcerative colitis to have another child if she had complications last pregnancy? |
I also had giardia from camping, it showed itself since I was pregnant. I am worried I will become sick again if I get pregnant. I don't want to risk a miscarriage. PLEASE CALL YOUR DR THATS WAY TO DEEP 4 ANYONE ON HERE GOODLUCK What complications did you experience? I am sorry to hear you have ulcerative colitis (UC). Unfortunately, stress causes UC to flare up and being pregnant is definitely stressful. How long have you been diagnosed with UC? Have you ever discussed with your doctor about surgical options? Surgical removal of the colon is curative for UC. Recent data supports surgery if the patient has had UC for 10+ years. UC and Crohn's increase the risk of colon cancer and thus surgical removal of the colon is an option. You also mentioned that you are infected with Giardia. Well, Giardia is a parasitic infection so the medication is highly teratogenic (i.e. causing birth defects). The medication is toxic in itself. Take care of the infection first before anything else. Also, in the future, be careful where you get your drinking water. |

suggest having your gall bladder checked for stones, it is a simple sonogram test. ...I would have it checked out. I can think of a number of things that could be causing it. Start off with a simple x-ray, it coule be as simple as a hairline fracture. ...either let it run its race which could take 1-4 weeks but dosent always go away r go to the doctor and he will give u meds ... |
