Gestational diabetes question?

If you have gestational diabetes and you are overweight, what are the chances of your baby being born premature?

I had it with my last pregnancy 10 months ago, he was my fifth and I was overweight. He came out just as healthy as my other four and he was not premature. He was on the bigger side at 10 lbs 3 oz. I would not worry it's not as bad as it sounds.

I'm overweight and I've got Gestational diabetes.
I'm being kept a close eye on. to make sure baby doesn't grow too big.
I was booked for an c-sec anyway at 29 weeks but they have just moved it forward a week due to babies growth.
It has certainly opened my eyes about excess weight.
I now have to inject insulin....hopefully it will go when baby is born but I'm shedding all of the excess weight after.
I don't want to end up with diabetes permanently!!!

I am the first child in my family to have kids, so I only had my mother's experience to rely on. She was 5'8" 125, and had 4 of 6 kids premature (2 died within days of birth).

I am 5'0" and 175 when pregnant with first kid. I have 2 kids, and gestational diab. with both. Neither one premature.

By the way, the two premature siblings of mine who were premies have turned out well: one is an attorney, and the other has a Master of Science degree in Meteorology.
