How does gestational diabetes affects our spouses and family?

I have gestational diabetes and my husband seem to be getting more into this following the food guidellines, reminding me how to eat etc etc. How does this affect him and why? Does it affect other men the same way?

Gestational diabetes affects you, the baby and your husband. He is bound to be concerned for yours and the baby's health.
Do not forget your baby can be a big baby. Better control means a better less risk pregnancy.
It is good that he is supporting you.he will help you to stick to the guidelines. It is healthy eating-get him to follow the guidelines as well.it will help to educate him on healthy eating and make him healthier at the same time.

You are welcome .All the best for your pregnancy Report It

I had gestational diabetes with my youngest child and your husband is acting perfectly normal. He is only trying to look out after you and helping to keep you healthy. I would imagine that other men, if they loved their partners would act the same.

Sometimes they are trying to help. Sometimes they are being controlling. Hopefully yours is the former.

It's a lot of work, and if you're getting good support, that's great.
