Questions about gestational diabetes? |
I am 29 weeks pregnant with my second child and just took my one hour glucose test. My numbers were reported as "high", so I have to schedule the three hour test for next week. Can anyone tell me: if I start eating really healthy right now, if that will decrease my chances of scoring high on the second test? Or is it the case that I either have gestational diabetes or I don't? Any other details would be great. Thanks for your help! I'm not sure, but I would eat several small meals instead of larger meals. Stay away from sugar, but don't use the fake stuff, they really don't know if it causes birth defects or not. Eat mostly protein and milk products. That's the best I can do. Ask your doctor for a diet. Mine were high to. The second time I took the test they were fine. Try not to worry about it to much. |
