k here goes i was diagnosed at 30 weeks with gestational diabetes ,i had went to a dietitian and, first off my OB gave me cretin times to eat which are not working i get hungry even after i have followed it and the dietitian did the same and gave me a list of snacks i can eat well all this crap is not working i never get full and my Dr seems to think i,m an idiot and think i get full yea well i don't i have lost weight i,m 33 weeks pregnant and Due January27th .i realize that i have it but your not supposed t loose weight i barley weigh 97 or less can't remember now he is going to put me on insulin my son barley weights 3 lbs and the Dr keeps telling me he is going to be fat if i don't follow my diet??I don't get it i,m 4'7 and i,m just wanting to get some details on what you have been through or if you have been through the same and yes i have tried to change OB but no one will accept me as he is the only high risk Doc around here so what are your opinions and what and how did you deal with your diet and what did you eat? I know it's hard, and it's got to be especially hard since you're not heavy. When I was diagnosed with GD they gave me a ridiculous diet that I tried to follow, and I had a terrible time. So what I did was learned more about it and made up my own diet. Was it explained to you that you should be eating 6 small meals a day ? If the child weighs 3 pounds now and you are due January 27 you will not have a fat baby. I was not able to gain weight with my first child and was told as long as the child gained weight she would be fine. The child always gets The last thing you need to do is to start using insulin. If you want to control your blood sugar (and help your baby), cut out all sugar and severely limit all starches in your diet. Eat plenty of protein-rich foods and lots of green vegetables. MIlk has a lot of sugar in it, so eat cheese instead. Go easy on bread, grains, cereals, pasta, white potatoes, etc. Eat enough to satisfy your hunger, but make sure your diet consists of high quality foods. I know how you feel, i had the same problem when i was pregnant. The main reason they do it is because your sugar levels are not good for the baby. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but follow the guidelines the doctor and dietitian gave you. Im not gonna say that i followed the calorie guideline cuz i didn't. I was like, I was always hungry when they first put me on the "diet." I did follow the food guideline though because that is the most important thing in order to maintain your sugar levels. Best of luck to you and your baby!!! |
