I have gestational diabetes and am 27 weeks. Was detected with GD in 26th week.? |
I have no family history of diabetes, had my normal first child and pregnanacy, no blood pressure problems so far, am 29 yrs of age. I dont feel any physical, but am totally disturbed emotionally. I have been told to take my readings 4 times a day. I have been monitoring myself since last 5 days. My fasting readings range rom 85 to 98. My after breakfast 2 hour reading range from 80 to 97. After lunch 2 hour reading from 102 to 129 and after dinner 2 hour reading from 81 to 124. I am trying to follow the diet prescribed as closely as possible. But I am in so much stress thinking what would be my reading after the next meal. I dont even feel like eating anything, just keep eating the same stuff over and over if my reading were good with that particular food trying to make sure my next reading come out good. I am so scared that if I exceed above 90 for fasting or 120 after 2 hours of meal my OBGYN will ask me to take Insulin. Please help. Do I really need to worry? Aww you sound like I did ( and still do a bit) stressing is the worse thing.. gestational diabetes is not your fault or the baby's .. its just how your body is responding this time around.. eating the same thing that you have good results on wont help.. you could be missing important vitamins and minerals and nutritional requirements.. stay away from fruit juices.. they are practically pure sugar.. quick rise and sudden fall.. not good at all.. as your doctor to speak with a nutritionist about the situation.. they can show you better meal plans than the basic info sheets can. Ask questions of your doctor.. You'll begin the glucose challenge test by drinking a syrupy glucose solution. One hour later, you'll have a blood test to measure your blood sugar level. A blood sugar level below 130 to 140 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) is usually considered normal on a glucose challenge test, although this may vary at specific clinics or labs. If your blood sugar level is higher than your clinic's threshold, you'll likely need a second test to confirm the diagnosis. Please follow the instructions of your gynac. If you take medicine for diabetes, there is a child in you. You have to be very careful now because you are pregnant. Recently there was a very long extended arguments on this subject in ayurvedaonline@yahoogroups.com But, nothing could be concluded with the line of treatment. |
