About gestational diabetes?

I just took the glucose test at 26wks.the nurse said my results came back just a bit high(normal is >140,mine came back at 142)so i'm hoping my next test will have good results.just wondering for those who've had this...what were your results, were they okay second time and should i be worried?

Your blood sugar can vary throughout your pregnancy. Just try to eat the right foods at the right time.

I had 7 blood sugar tests with my last baby. It's a wonder I didn't get gestational diabetes from that syrupy stuff they had me drink. To this day I can't drink Mountain Dew because that is what it tasted like.

Don't worry about it and even if you do have gestational diabetes it will go away when the baby is born.

I don't think you need to worry yet. I doubt you would need any medication to control it at that level. Have you asked your doctor what kind of result would prompt her to take action, and what action she would take?

In any case, if I were you I'd take a good hard look at dietary matters. Keep well away from refined sugar and eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg. You're probably doing that already, eh? If you eat a very healthy diet you will probably find your blood glucose remains close to the normal range. And gentle exercise is important too.

Good luck!
