Gestational Diabetes-taking insulin & think I accidentally injected into a vein. Can this hurt the baby?

My 4th day doing the injections. When I removed the needle there was blood and I got a bruise almost instantly. When I looked closer I saw the puncture was very close to the vein possibly right on it. Can the extra insulin be harmful to my baby?

I called my doctor but the nurse said the damage was already done and she'd have the doctor call me if it was an issue. But I'm still worried!!!

insulin is usually injected in 'fat'. sometimes, you can bleed once you remove a needle and get a bruise. it means that you went through a capillary. it doesn't really matter since the insulin would have got in your circulation anyway, it'll just be quicker. did you do that on your lap? my secret is to do it in the butt, so even if it happens to get a bruise.. well almost nobody sees it. so i say, no need to worry, its probally less harmfull than if you had forgot to take your shoot.

best sites to inject : butt fat, arm fat, belly fat, waist fat.. anywhere where its fat :P
