My mom had gestational diabetes while she was pregnant with me. am i at a higher risk for developing diabetes? Yes you are , How your Mother's body is acting during the pregnancy is how your body can be developing as you grow inside her. My wife had gestational diabetes with two of your children. My eight year old son is diabetic and has been since he was four. My 6 year old daughter is not diabetic so far. My son did get a bad virus when he was three which is the belief that a virus can start diabetes. Our daughter has had no sign of a virus. Also though a big factor is DNA or family history of diabetes (type one ), my wife has had that history in her family since the early 1920's .Type one diabetes has not come up in her family for awhile before my son. I think though having gestational diabetes is very common , so I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you become diabetic there isn't much you can do about , there is no way of stopping it. The best measure though is to be aware of the signs that of your pancreas is slowly dying, so you can get help immediately and not go in a coma and get medical attention so your body won't be harmed further. If you do ever do become diabetic, remember many people have diabetes, so you arn't alone and as I see with my son , he still lives a great life yes Well... If you are not diabetic yet... I would suggest... you should have a regular dose of Pancreas boosting/enhancing foods... which will certainly reduce your chances of become diabetic in the future... |
