In gestational diabetes during pragnancy, is it required not to extend the delivery time mroe than 38 weeks? It's not required but it is recommended. Generally baby's of mom's who have gestational diabetes during pregnancy are significantly larger than other babies. If allowed to carry a pregnancy to 40 weeks (for example) your risks during delivery increase greatly...especially a vaginal delivery mostly impart to the size...waiting can increase the chances you will have a c section for the very same reason. The baby's just too big to come out the other way. Not only the baby's size but the moms health is deteriorating as well. |
