What childhood diseases did you have/?

Me chicken pox, measles and german measles.

Had them all except Chicken Pox which I caught when i was 29 and was really bad. The doctor even wrote in his notes thatit was the worse case he had ever seen.

I think the worst disease any teenager can get is puberty,,,but i had the usual,chicken pox,mumps etc

my boyfriend however... poor guy... psoriasis, shingles when he was 3 months old (that's normally an elderly person disease), high blood pressure, appendicitis, tonsillitis, and flat feet... that's not a disease, but it tops him off.

he's also balding at age 21...

I had measles aged 2 which left me with a squint (Happily now corrected!!!!!!!!!)
Chickenpox aged around 6
Glandular fever aged 17

well i was born with a hole in my heart, and murmour, both these healed when i reached 8yrs old, but i was'nt immune to diseases.
iv'e had
pheumonia
chicken pox 3times
german measles.
shingles
scarlet fever
the last one left me slightly deaf in one ear.

I don't remember it, but my health record says I got chicken pox at nine months. My mom said I got it from the same brother she put me in bed with to EXPOSE me to the German measles when I was five. I DO remember that! Back in the day when one child got sick with a childhood disease it was often "suggested" that all the children in the house should be exposed to "get it over with" at the same time!
I don't remember whether this was medical advice or just harried 60's era maternal conventional wisdom. Whoever had the bright idea it was Ghastly! I remember being told to keep my sick brother company. Within 48 hours I felt sick myself and sure enough I had the measles too.
I'm glad we have more immunizations now, not withstanding the debate over autism possibly being a side affect of those vaccines.
My son is 23. He had the worse case of chicken pox I'd ever seen when he was 2. All I could do was cry for him, rub on Calamine lotion, give him oatmeal baths and try to keep his fever down. He bears two facial depressions to this day. No vaccine for chicken pox was available just that short a time ago when he was being administered his infant vaccinations. Thank God for medical advancement!
Edit: I just remembered I was hospitalized with facial swelling that was extremely painful when I was in my late 20's! It took them days to figure out it was mumps! I guess my vaccination wore off or I was exposed to a different strain as an adult.

Whooping cough and all the kiddies ones

I had chicken pox when i was a child.

none! everytime anyone had chicken pox or measles my mum used to send me round to play with them so i would catch it too!!! (apparently its more dangerous to catch these diseases when youre older, she wasnt just being sadistic!)
all my children have had chickenpox but ive never caught it!

Amoebic Dysentery (caught from child friend/roommate while in hospital for above Salmonella)
