Questions about genital herpes...?

Me, my mom, & my brother all have had cold sores before (my mom has genital herpes also & im scared she may have spread it to me through her blood, or maybe sharing a razor) can genital herpes cause swollen lymph nodes? and flem in my throat? (ENT dctr said i have post nasal drip) but i also have had this painful red rash/bumps down there between my vagina and my anus....could these symptoms mean i have genital herpes???

and also i noticed a scrape appeared down there

Herpes is a common member of the same family of chicken pox. The symptoms can mimic alot of common illnesses. The fact that your mother had herpes, could in fact be spread at birth. (though possible, is probably unlikely) Rather than lose sleep, if you are having an outbreak its important to have a doctor detect while infected.

The writer above is wrong, herpes can indeed be passed quite easily from person to person and from one region of the body to another (i.e. orally). It's called auto-innoculation. Look up herpes on webMD and educate yourself rather than worry needlessly.

I don't think she could have spread it to you through her blood (unless it touched you down there) or a razor. Herpes, like HIV, is a fragile virus, it dies extremely fast once it's outside the body. (Within seconds I'm pretty sure.)
