Genital herpes... and kids? |
if u have Genital herpes , and u want kids do u have to give ur partner it.... do u kno anyone with Genital herpes.. You can avoid giving it to your parter while trying to concieve by taking Valtrex, which is a viral inhibitor, which prevents the virus from erupting (causing an "outbreak"). This is available only by prescription. If you have herpes, it is used to make your outbreaks much shorter and less painful. chances are if you are w/ a person dignificant enough to have kids you will @ some point have an open lesion and give the person herpes. You can be treated so the breakouts are far less and last a smaller amt of time. Unless of course you are a sperm donor or wish to have a sperm donor. just w/ someone long enough to get pregnant. but that is not a good cituation for the child. or just be aware and don't have sex when you have or are getting a lesion you can have sex w/ genital herpes w/o spreading to it to your partner as long as you are careful not to have contact during an outbreak. medication can also prevent spreading it. if you wish to get pregnant you need to speak with a dr first, because it is risky to the baby to pass down the birth canal if you are infected. It will be a miracle if your partner don't get it but if you both have it then you can still have kids without it being transmitted to them you just have to let the doctor know you have it so when its time for delivery they can decide if they got to do a c-section but i don't know anyone with it i just know from reading about diseases. good luck I have both a family member and a friend with Herpes, and as long as you don't have an active outbreak during sex, concieving shouldn't be a problem, with little risk of passing it on. However, even with no symptoms you can still pass herpes to your partner, so its always better to use back-up like Valtrex. Don't let these people scare you, you would only need a C-section at the time of delivery if you had an active outbreak AT the time of delivery. (Just take my word on this, I know) Be extremely careful. Even then, it's possible to pass it on if your partner is shedding. As mentioned above, Valtrex helps, but not 100%. I got it from my husband when he was taking 1 gram of Valtrex daily with no signs of outbreak. The tricky thing about getting pregnant with herpes is that if you get your first outbreak while you are pregnant, your baby is much more likely to get it when it's born, even if a C-section is performed. Talk to your doctor and discuss your intentions to become pregnant and your partner's situation. |
