Endless problems with prescription medications. Do you have medication issues too?

I have, what seems, neverending problems with prescription medications. Currently, I'm having problems finding an antidepressant that works. Because of the extent of the problems finding medications that my body will not reject, I've turned to others with similar problems. I have been searching for an effective antidepressant. I know this is common with many patients and it may take awhile to find the right medication or right combinations. But, after years of trying nearly all medications (yes, even than one!), I either give up, or look for people who has similar issues. Luckly, there are lots of people like me. The sad part is that many just give up.

My question: I've found a genetic test to help find the best medication based on certain genetic makeups which explains why some medications just don't work? Have you tried this genetic testing (at the Mayo Clinic) and has it helped you?.

I don't know about genetic research but you obviously sound like a candidate for it. And the ones who think those of us don't need medication who are you to say so? You are not in our bodies to feel our depression and our fears and anxieties we don't make it up. It isn't like getting upset because our damn car won't start. It doesn't go away by just having faith. Don't judge other people unless you have walked in their shoes. And Randy I hope you find the correct medication for you.

There is no such thing except in research.
Not every facet of the genetic makeup has been figured out.

Drugs are not the answer dont you peole ever learn?
When you think negatively you make yourself sick. This is you- "I cant deal with this" When you realize its makes no difference you might get better. This life is not important and nothing that happens in it will change anything. There are no curses. So when you say your life is over because of circumstances its a lie. There are many things I wish were different but has no effect on my current life or this reality. Things are as they always were its just us being mad cause its not exactly "our way" Does your car still start? each morning? Does youre breakfast smell good? Nothing has changed...When you have faith it wil build you a new life over months without drugs.. its your choice.

I seem to be allergic to or very sensitive to every drug ever prescribed to me. This January I decided to start an organic/all natural diet. I feel so much better. I have more energy! I feel so good now. I added virgin coconut oil and the difference is amazing. I have not been sick, have not seen a doctor and I don't intend to. Prescription drugs are just not good for some people. Try homeopathic or herbal. Basically any alternative to drugs.

All meds deplete your body of nutrients. Try supplements to add back the vital nutrients your body is stripped of. And you could try newstarget.com for alternatives to drugs. At the very least, get yourself balanced again. There are plenty of herbs, vitamins, and supplements to get you back enough on your feet so you can do some good research on the stuff you need the meds for. Antidepressants are the worst of all. There are alternatives, that go after the cause. Once you get to the cause, you will be on your way to a cure, rather than a treatment of the symptoms.

Yes. I want to stop taking it is my issue. Can't yet, so the doctor says. I've had some relapses so I am going along with it for now.

All you need is a better psychiatrist who will prescribe the right meds for you.
