What are the 5 most known about genetic disorders?

What are the 5 most known about genetic disorders?

there are lots of info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_dis...

most common ones are
Down syndrome, Turner Syndrome, Klinefelter's syndrome
all related to sex cells

This information is incorrect:

Down syndrome, Turner Syndrome, Klinefelter's syndrome
all related to sex cells

These syndromes are technically chromosomal disorders, due to too many or not enough chromosomes. Genes are located on chromosomes, so, loosely speaking it's genetic. But it's more accurate to say they are chromosomal disorders. Genetic disorders are usually caused by a mutation or change in a gene. Some are more common than others, depending on ethnicity. Cystic Fibrosis is most common in Caucasians, Sickle Cell Disease is most common in African Americans, Tay Sachs is more common in Ashkenazi Jewish individuals. It all depends on your ethnicity, and which genetic changes are most common.
