Is hypothyroidism a genetic disorder also?? |
Because i was reading the comments about hypothyroidism and people claimed so, but i got three books on hypothyroidism and it doesn't seem to say that was the cause for it. Hypothyroidism is a syndrome, which is an array of illnesses. The cause will give the diagnosis, like hashimoto but over all it is not a monogenic or Mendelian trait. It is most likely a polygenic and multifactorial condition but it does run in families. Over all thyroid disorders and pathology are 1 in 10, so they are very common |
