Genetic disorder is uncontrollable?

My dad has eczema and I have the same thing since I was born. This disease is driving me insane. No one in the family has it but me. I really hate my life since I am the only one that has it. Should I blame him?

I am a female. I heard if you have eczema, you will pass it on to your children.

Eczema is an immune reaction. The genetic makeup of the immune system is very complex, involving a lot of different genes.

The tendency to have eczema can be inherited, but not predictably. As you say, you are the only other one in your family who has it.

Also, it is the combination of genes of both your parents' genes that made up your immune system. You can't blame your father alone.

There is an article that explains this at the link.

well no u shouldnt blame him cos i bet he doesnt like it either. its nothing that he did to give it to you, so its not his fault. You could possibly pass it on to ur kids, there's no real way of knowing until u have one!
