I have generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder..? |
my mom wont allow me to go on medication fo it and ive been suffering with it for 5 years. i have been buying xanax for it and they work sooo good but they are so expensive to buy and when i run out of money to spend on them or connections, my anxiety seems like its even worse. what should i do? i turn 18 in 10 months so i can but a prescription but if you know what severe anxiety is like, then you know it actually gets hard to breath and the headaches get so bad i almost pass out. i dont know what to do im so confused Hmm i hope that you start to feel better, but if you think you need medication then you really need to talk to your doctor and your mother about going on it. From a meditation/mental help point of view there is a website called http://www.positivecancer.com its fairly new, but their posts might help. Good luck and feel better. I know where you're coming from. I suffer from anxiety and panick attacks to. i would talk to another adult...possibly family member that can lend you the money or buy them for you! i am personally on effexor rx and don't know what i'd do without it! i'm so sorry your mom's not supportive! i have bad social anxiety. i get bad headaches too. your mom should at least let u see a psychologist so u had a professional to talk to. and when ur 18 in a year u can do what u want to do. if u want to talk online on aim my screename is TheBTPYoda. just offering. i'm 24 but just started to get help now and i know how it can take over your life. You can also read the book "Calming The Anxious Mind", This book worked for me along with that phobia workbook that other dude is talking about. DONT TAKE DRUGS! especially XANAX because your body gets dependent on it and now you can't live without it. Practice deep breathing and Meditation exercises, its in the book Calming.... try it, worked like a charm for me. Patience is the key. Master the deep breathing, focus on the breathe and the tummy, make sure you breathe in to the tummy not just the longs. LONG deep breathes to the TUMMY when you feel anxiety coming. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS, say, 'it will pass', and float with it. Your attacks won't be as bad and will soon go away like it did for me!! Just buy those two books is all you need. Don't waste your money on harmful drugs and Quacks who prescribe them to you. Do yoga also. helps a lot. Hope this helps. |
