What Medication Is Most Prescribed For Generalized Anxiety Disorder? |
I'm Considering Taking Medication For My GAD, But Would Rather Take Something That Is Commonly Prescribed. Anyone Know? Gerard took the words right out of my mouth..DO NOT TAKE XANAX. SSRI type medications are often prescribed. Drugs in this class include Paxil and Zoloft. Talk to your doctor about what would work best for you.. xanex A drug in the class of Benzodiazapines such as xanax, klonopin, ativan, .........i have heard that doctors prescribe Paxil frequently, but in my experience it did not work. I take xanax when needed, and klonopin at bed time. an SSRI and some diazepam will help for a while, plus some psychological therapy, don't take xanax, a short cting benzo, similar o lorazepam, it will work, but make he problem worse, as the anxiety will return very quickly SSRIs, and plenty of studies show them to be overprescribed and capable of causing suicide. SSRIs are the most common group of drugs....they are antidepressants, google it....and search for SSRI and generalised anexiety disorder vistoril Paxil, Wellbutrin, Cymbalta Elavil is a highly prescribed med, but it loses its effictives after a while and you need higher doses. Paxil and Zoloft hurt my stomach, so i couldnt take them, i am thinking of trying xanax, we'll see. |
