Does anyone else take Lexapro for generalized anxiety disorder? If so what side effects do you experience?

I have been taking Lexapro for 2 weeks now for GAD, not depression. I take one 10mg pill a day. I can tell it is helping. If I take it at night I wake up feeling dizzy in the morning, so I started taking it in the morning and if I'm not active it makes me tired and I've been getting headaches every day which is the worst side effect so far. Do they go away after a while? Thanks to anyone who answers.

Hi. I have been taking this for about 3 months.Mainly for anxiety.

It was horrible for the first 3 weeks, I used to yawn all the time and grit my teeth, want to sleep all the time, get dizzy spells but one day it just seemed to kick in and I feel really good now. Stick with it for another month and see how you go you can always try something else.

I tried Zoloft once. OMG it turned me into a moron, I used to dribble it was awful. so lexepro is pretty mild compared to that. GOOD LUCK

I took it for awhile and it did me just fine. I can't remember when I took it; morning or night. I changed because it isn't on the drug list and was more expensive than say Paxil. So I went to that now. I wished I had went to something different though, because of the news of the withdrawal, and I have noticed this. I would stay on it for awhile and see how it works out. Say maybe a couple of months, then decide on how you like it.

my daughter and i both just started taking it and it does help, the dizziness will go away and we dont eat very much anymore either.

all i know is that this is the drug that Anna Nicole's son mixed with the Methodone and now he is dead so be careful
