Is Gene Therapy available for Albinism patients? |
Its for a Biology report due Friday,March 9,2007 No I don't think it is. hmm... i guess not yet but there is a possibility in future... I know this is past you report deadline, but thought I would comment. Gene therapy is being investigated more for more life threatening disease like Cystic Fibrosis and hemophilia. These disease could have more of an impact on a person's quality of life. IF gene therapy becomes an option, albinism would probably be lower on the food chain. Many people have a very good quality and lengthy life. Albinism not only affects a persons skin and eye sensitivity but also their vision. I doubt gene therapy could change how a person sees. |
