Is there any remedy for gastroesophageal reflux?i suffered for 8 years now,i am 38 and want normal life?

do you have esophageal erosion?
answer my questions and I will give you suggestions

are you taking meds?
what time at night do you eat, and then how long after do you go to sleep?
what has your doctor already told you? what is your history of this condition?

Smaller meals, sleep slightly elevated, and don't lay on your lt. side...I think.Get some stomach acid reducers(like Tagament)

Yes check out http://www.gerd.com/ . It has a lot of info and some was to treat it.

there is a new surgery to fix it

Go to your doctor and explain and ask for a prescription for Nexium. It is the only known med to cure it.

you need a simple answer, but I don't have one.

just check out http://www.gerd.com
to know more about the surgery options for same and http://www.forerunnershealthcare.com
to get the same surgery for very low costs

This question is listed under the Alternative Med heading... why all the talk about drugs and surgery. 12 billion dollars a year are spent educating our brains about the benefits of drugs, and, unfortunately, that is the first solution that most of us think of.

Before you take any dangerous drugs or allow some butcher to do surgery on you try this simple experiment. When you feel a little heartburn coming on, sip on about 1T of apple cider vinegar in 4oz of water. If that helps you, your problem is not too much gastric juice, but too little. You need some digestive enzymes. If the vinegar makes your GER worse, you truly have too much acid. THIS IS NOT A DISEASE!! Your stomach is doing exactly as it is supposed to, but there is mis-communication with your brain. Ever wonder why you have that pain in the middle of your back? Visit a good chiropractor and tell him or her about your problem. More than likely they will be able to help... if not, then try more invasive/dangerous remedies.
