I'm not a doctor so I don't understand your numbers, but I will tell you about my experience. I had an exercise stress test that done last year that suggest I had silent ischemia (not enough blood getting to the heart with no chest pain, but causing fatigue). A few weeks later, the cardiologist sent me for a MIBI test wear they inject you with a dye and take pictures of your heart before and after going on the treadmill. This test which is much more accurate showed that my heart was normal. I was talking to a doctor in his early fourties that also failed an exercise stress test. He however had the MIBI test and failed that also. He did not beleive it because he was in good shape so they did an angiogram on him which is the gold standard for diagnosing heart problems and his heart was normal. Only an angiogram can show a blockage. An excercise stress test is very important, but can never tell you for sure if there is a blockage or not.

A stress test is not a perfect test, and based on what your results showed, it is perfectly reasonable for your doctor to further investigate the findings. If he hadn't done further testing, I would have questioned him! There are many reasons to have a false positive result, and fortunately you were one of them!
