Gastroenteritis - And the effects on an unborn child? |
Basicly my sister and her son were extreamly poorly with this 'Gastroenteritis' but my sister was also 22weeks pregnant. The hospital/docters and midwifes obviously knew her situation etc.. as she got over being poorly her waters broke. Was in hospital for nearly 5 days, she kept asking and asking if the 'Gastroenteritis' would have anythin to do with it as years ago it was known to be quiet dangerous.. Nurses and doctors just ignored and neber answerd her questions. Then at just under 26weeks she gave birth to the most beautiful little boy. It breaks my heart to say but the passed away shortly after birth! And i need answers.. she was not properly cared for, i think the Gastroenteritis had somethin to do with it and belive more could of been done before it got that far, I dont know if it had anything to do with it but I think she should contact a support group for stillborn or cot deaths and they should point you in the right direction to get the support she and you might need. I am sorry to hear this news |
