How long are you Immune to Gastroenteritis after you have contracted it?

Both me and my father contracted (What we thought to be) Gastroenteritis back in early January and got over it. Now, we're possibly going to visit our relatives.
The problem is that my Grandmother, whom we were going to visit, has contracted what seems to be the same junk that we got.
My mother and sister never got it, so they're definitely vulnerable. So I was wondering, how long does the immunity to Gastroenteritis last? Thanks for any help!

gastroenteritis is caused by a 100 different bugs...rotaviraus, norwalk virus, ecoli, shigella etc etc and every bug will give immunity for a variable period and not very long but u can always get the other bugs ! so there is no safe period ! be careful with what u eat
