Gastroenteritis? (the stomach bug or the stomach flu)?

The other night I was vomiting every half hour or so. I'm guessing it was gastroentiritis, more commonly known as the stomach bug or the stomach flu.
What foods should I be eating and for how long?

Start slowly with clear liquids (broth, cranberry/apple/grape juices, Gatorade, Pedialyte) to maintain hydration. Be sure to brush your teeth after vomiting; the stomach acid can etch the enamel of your teeth (not to mention the bad breath).

As tolerated, advance to non-clear liquids (for example, tomato soup), then on to soft solids (scrambled eggs, applesauce, etc.), then back to normal.

You might get back to normal in a day or two, or it might be longer. Your stomach will let you know for sure! If the vomiting persists more than a couple of days, go to urgent care. You want to avoid dehydration, and it could be more serious with persistent vomiting.

Bananas, dry toast, ginger ale.I'd say maybe for the next 2 days after the vomiting has cleared.
