How contagious is gastroenteritis? |
I found out today that my extended family have come down with vomiting today and last night. i was at their house yesterday and i ate food that they prepared in the evening. is it possible to get catch what they have. i wasn't around them when they started vomiting, i was just around them a few hours before hand. i am very hygenic but i was just wondering if they were contagious before they got sick. gastro is spread by contact. Using the same toilet, if they don't wash there hands extra. You can't catch it by breathing. But it is highly contagious. I would suggest not having them over if u don't want to be sick to. It's very contagious. But if they were all sick at the same time it's possible that it was because of something they all ate beforehand. Good Luck. |
