Chronic appendicitis, is it possible I have it? |
For the past 2-3 years, I was having chronic dull throbbing pain at the lower right part of my abdomen, and it worsen every time during my menstruation. When I first initially got the pain, it was intensely throbbing, but I thought that it could be that my intestines were irritated to very spicy food, or probably viral gastroenteritis. I have a thing about some Malaysian doctors being incompetent (having one of my lecturers died due to such incompetency, and a classmate of mine being misdiagnosed for gastroenteritis when in fact he was having appendicitis), so I did not have this checked out. Is there anyone who can enlighten me on this? I'm a vet student, so I can comprehend medical jargons as well. It is unlikely that you have appendicitis. Usually it presents with sever pain in the lower right quadrant, and is sensitive to the touch. It is also dangerous because should it burst and you develop peritonitis, unless you get it treated right away you could really die. Now, I don't know if you are in Malaysia or not. If you are, there are some very good doctors in the area, and if you are an American national you can go to the Embassy and ask them who they would recommend as a general internist. 2-3 years is a long time to put up with this pain, Since it seems to be connected to your period, try to find a female gynecologist and have it checked out. If you were in the States, I could tell you where to go for a consult. Don't let this go on and on. Good Luck |
