Type B flu?

I went to the doctor 2 days ago after having severe diarrhea and vomiting for 5 hours straight- my flu tests came back negative but the doctor said that's common within the first 24-36 hours.
My question is- I'm not having any chills, sore throat, body aches, etc that normally comes alone with the flu but the doctor still said I have type B flu (involves diarrhea, etc).

Has anyone else really had type B flu and only had diarrhea and vomiting but no other regular symptoms of the flu? I'm skeptical that I really have the flu. I think I have gastroenteritis.

By the way, I contacted the doctor and am waiting on his phone call to discuss my illness further.

sounds like food poisoning

It much matters if you now have fever or not. Anyway,if you don't have fever and can drink soft fluids, there is no need to take antibiotics, and just keep on drinking fluids.

your disease sounds more of a viral enteritis esp.due to adenovirus which cause more symptoms similar to your disease.vomiting first subsides, later diorreoea subsides
