Daughter of three and half years old has high fever? |
My daughter develop 40.5 fever since yesterday . When a person gets a fever its because the body is fighting off an infection somewhere. I don't blame you for not wanting to take your daughter to the doctor's. I know they are always trying to shove antibiotics down our kids. But if her fever goes up higher or if it doesn't go away in two days I would take her in. It will mean that her body can't fight off the infection itself and she will need antibiotics to help with the process. Put a cold rag on her head. Make sure she drinks plenty of cold water. Don't give her heavy food or spicy food (In case she may have to throw up). Lots of rest. Sounds like you're doing everything right I went to China before and had a fever of 39.7. My parents just gave me a lot of water, I took a lot of showers, and just slept. ( I hate going to the doctors) After 4 days, I was better. At least call the nurse if you don't want to take her to the Dr. I don't know what "40.5" is because we use 98.6 in U.S. to indicate a normal temperature. |
