How can you tell the difference between gastritis and gastric cancer???

Gastritis is the inflammation of the gastric system anywhere from your esophagus to your large intestine. You'll have diarrhea, possibly nausea and vomiting, pain in the stomach areas, and problems keeping food down; feeling of burning in your stomach.

"Gastric Cancer"...where? If you have something going on in the intestine, you might have some bleeding. If it's dark colored, that would indicate the bleeding is higher up in the intestine. Bright red would be closer to the rectal track, like hemorrhoids. Vomiting blood, or anything that looks like coffee grounds would also indicate a severe problem.

Either way, there is no way to diagnose "cancer" of any kind without a doctor/biopsies and such. If your bleeding in any way, get to the ER. See your doc asap! Have a blessed Day!

Thorough examination by doctors.

Differentiation using tests on gastric secretion, histological examination of tissues, endoscopy, radiology (form of stomach), routine tests of blood and other.

But doctors will differentiate these two diseases easily. Gastric cancer (superficial carcinoma, cancer from pancreas or other) may be more difficult to differentiate from some gastric ucers.

Gastric cancer may be present together with gastritis (inflamation of stomach) sometimes.

Only through diagnostic testing, such as a barium swallow, an endoscopy and or a colonoscopy.If anything suspicious is seen on the latter two tests a biopsy could be taken to test for cancerous cells.

Clinically both have the same symptoms, but gastric cancer usually associated with sever weight loss before the appearance of symptoms, its very rare to see one patient with cancer in his stomach without losing at least 50% of his body weight in the recent 6 months, that's the key in the clinical diagnosis, other wise all the symptoms are similar and the definitive diagnosis should done by endoscopy to see the lesion and took a biopsy for histological study.
