Angry about peoples views on Gastric Bypass?

Okay is anyone else angry that people are saying "it's a quick fit" and people need to "just stop eating so much" "or get thier lazy *** to a gym" Okay let me explain something to the simple minded fools who are saying this. Once you reach a certain weight, there is nothing you can do. Your too morbidly obese to exercise, no matter what you eat it will stop you from gaining maybe, however you will not lose weight. I'm sick of people thinking oh shes overweight she sits home and eats twinkies everyday. My mother is dying because of her weight and I was teased to bad in high school I became suicidal. My thyroid completly useless and full of cancer. So before you stop and tell people to get off there *** maybe you should think how u would feel if u were them. Most people who get gastric bypass are morbidly obese meaning they can hardly move yet alone exercise. So stop acting like people are using this as an easy way out. I mean after the surgery u can only have a tbsp of food 4 6 months

no...for the first 2 weeks only water and ice chips then after that everything must be blended and you can have a tbsp after six months then you can go up to a cup

People who believe this way are ignorant fools. Ignore them and allow them to wallow in their little close-minded worlds with their little close-minded brains.

Remember, the worst thing about ignorance is its insistence.

Actually you can have a cup of food. The majority of people that have the surgery are sick and it's the only way they can loose weight. And yes as a society we are narrow minded when it comes to the morbidly obese but you ranting and raving on here isn't going to help anything.

It's true that once they reach a certain weight, there is nothing they can do, but how do they get that heavy to begin with?

Well, I don't think you asked a question...but, yes people are prejudiced against fat people...There are many reasons for weight gain (I have a useless thyroid...gained 75lbs. eating next to nothing and exercising daily)...meds help, but, I still have 35 lbs. to lose....and can't do much exercise due to arthritis, and, endometriosis....Why worry about what others think...it will consume you...Also Carney Wilson has done a lot to show people about gastric bypass...i doesn't keep the weight off...it just helps you get it off as a last resort...if you need it...go for it. I know a few people who have and they are very happy with the results!

I used to think the same until I learned what it is. But still if people hear you had it done its like you never worked for it which is not true but if you did it the all natural way you get alot of praise. But people do gain weight with that surgery if they stuff themselves so its like the same but you get a little more help. Sorry for what you been through I wasn't picked on about my weight because they were fat too.

People who say that have an annoying combination of insensitivity and ignorance. It angers me too. People make certain assumptions about the obese and they just aren't true, like "They must eat 4 or 5 Whoppers every time they have fast food. I don't feel sorry for them because they don't even try". I've seen several posts like that on Yahoo and they are completely idiotic.

Thank you for you're post, I'm with you on this!
