Gastric bypass or lapband surgery??? |
has anyone had the gastric bypass or lapband surgery? have they worked, how much weight have you lost, how log has it taken, any side effects and do you wish u never had it done? how much did it cost? please help i can deal with dieting and exercise anymore, it dosent work and im willing to risk my life, im only 24 and dont want to deal with weight problems for the rest of my life.. I am 28 and had gastric bypass on October 10. As of December 6, I have already lost 62 lbs. I weiged about 307 before surgery and stand about 5'9 tall. Personally, I have not had many side effects. Mostly just feel tired a lot. It comes along with a very major lifestyle change. Going out to dinner is pretty much not an option even after 2 months. I can eat about 4 bits of food and then I am done. It is just not worth paying the money. The first few weeks were very bad and painful. I wondered how I could have put myself through that. Now, I feel like the surgery was a blessing and I thank God for everyday that I am here. The total cost of surgery without insurance is about 25,000 bucks. Luckily my insurance covered everything but about 350 dollars. I can't complain about that. Just remember. Gastric Bypass really is not the easy way out. Anyone that things it is the "Easy Way" is totally wrong and needs some real education about what this surgery involves. It is a major surgery with some major pain and major side effects if the aftercare is not followed to the T. Good luck! But you will deal with dieting and exercise the rest of your life, even if you have gastric bypass or lapband surgery. Weight loss surgery-like gastric bypass /lap band surgery / stomach stapling and gastrectomy have become very common and very safe now. My cousin got her Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in India. She has lost more than 65 lbs in 5 months and is very happy with the results. The price for obesity surgery is very less in India. My cousin just paid 25% of the cost she was quoted in America. She got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare. Hi, Do you want to lose weight & tone up, build strength & muscle mass or just need to gain weight? I can help you!
