Do you have to make an oppointment with your primary, or can you make an appointment straight up with a bariactric doctor about gastric bypass? Answers much appreciated. Depends on your insurance. Call the Bariatric Dr. and ask if you need a referel. Some have you go to a seminar before you chose to have this done. I have seen by-pass do very well for people and I have seen it go really bad for people.. It is a life altering surgery. talk about it with family friends and your Drs. You will most likely have to be referred by your primary to see a bariactric doctor. You can just call a Bariactric doctor to see if you need a referral or not and if you can just go for an appointment. Yes you do.. to get a referral.. but ask the surgeon about gastric banding aswell it doesnt change the structure of you digestive tract like bypass.... bypass is so radical and dangerous.. please just ask about banding |
