Gastric bypass pain? |
I had gastric bypass 3 weeks back and am having terrible pain at my left rib. the area also seems to swell when I walk around. Is this normal? Could I have a broken rib? Both my mom and my aunt had gastric bypass and both of them had this problem when they started back on solid foods. I'm obviously not sure if you've started eating solids again, but if you have it may be that you're not chewing it well enough. Right now that whole area is most likely still a little bit swollen so you have to make sure that you chew as best you can so it doesn't feel as if there's something stuck in your chest area. Over time the swelling will go down and the pouch will actually stretch out a little bit and it won't be so bad. If it persists you should definitely get in touch with your surgeon just to be on the safe side. Hang in there and good luck to you! |
