Gastric bypass post op advice? |
I have a friend who had gastric bypass 3 years ago.She has done great with the weight loss but in the past year has fallen into a bad derpession due to the loss of her parents and family issues. She stopped taking her vitamins a few months ago and is white and pasty looking. She tires easily and is almost getting mentally foggy. She is not eating her protein. She is weak all the time which is understandable because of the deficiencies.I had the surgery 2 years ago and I know what she should be doing but cant get her to do it.I know if I keep working on her I can get her to a dr or get her to start her vitamins again but I dont know how bad she is in the grand scheme.Should I be worried life and death or just health? If I told her dr would they be able to force her to get meds/vitamins?I dont want to lose a friend but I also dont want to lose a friendship if I am overreacting..anyone? I do know how vital it is.That is what is so hard about it. If you have had this procedure then you know that it is VITAL to take the prescribed foods to maintain your health. |
