My ganglion cyst is driving me crazy!? |
Ok...15 years ago I noticed a bump forming in the joint of my left wrist. I was told that my options were to slam it with a bible or leave it alone and see if it just goes away. I decided to leave it alone because it didn't bother me until 4 years ago. I decided to get it surgically removed because I was having trouble lifting my baby finger and I was experiencing pain up my arm when I lifted things. The surgery removed the cyst but left a scar and I was in a cast for 6 weeks. After all that, the cyst is back only taller and I'm feeling the same weakening sensations like before. I'm not going to hit it with a book and I don't want to go through the surgery again. Can anyone tell me how effective draining the cyst is and is it a painful procedure? I have also heard there's something you can take, a pill or something, that get's rid of Ganglion cysts? Wow! Thanks. I'm always glad to give it to help a person out.ruok Report It drink salt water or put on it- will osmotically remove it i feel your pain......literally. i have one in my right wrist. usually it comes and goes, but some days the pain is mindblowing! i'm a big sissy and won't have the surgery, i tried a really stiff brace my doctor recommended. another friend actually had the same brace and swears by it. it almost looks like a brace that bowlers wear. it slides onto your wrist and has laces and velcro to tighten it. check into it, it may be what you need. |

Whoa, be careful there. Sounds like someone wants to make a chunk of money off of you. And I'll tell you why. Years ago when we were living in a townhouse style of apt. in Phoenix, my h... I have the same type of cyst in the same wrist. My doctor told me that back in the old days they would give you a bottle of whiskey and then smack your wrist shut in a bible...don't ask me wh... I had one on my right wrist. It was a breeze, in surgery and out in less than an hour. Didnt have that much pain, and if I did I was given a pain killer to take home.. Dont sweat it! That was 5 y... I dealt with this same thing for over a year (finally got it removed). The surgery was fairly simple, and i have minimal scaring (it actually looks like i was drunk and tried to commit suicide~ i ... My daughter had this surgery when she graduated high school. She took pain killers for a week or two. Unfortunately, her ganglion came back. It was in her dominant wrist also, and then it starte... I have had two removed. I took pain meds for neither of them. The last one was on the inside of my anke on the ankle bone and I drove myself home after.It is only minor surgery and should not bothe... it is a lump filled with clear gunge.i had one appear on my wrist when i was 17 and i had it syringed out,but it grew back again,so when i was 20 i had it surgically removed and it has never return... I don't know what medical school would teach you the old bible fix, but it is far outdated now. There are many simple massage techniques that can be used to slowly rub the cyst out with time,... |
