Ganglion Cyst Surgery Cost? |
I have a Ganglion Cyst on the inside of my left wrist, and I'm considering surgery to have it remeved. My Doctor is sending me for an ultrasound on my wrist which is already costing me $190.00 before the medicare rebate. Does anyone know the approx costs of getting this surgery done? I'm in Australia and have not taken out private health cover. Thank you everyone who answered. Today I have some goon news - I have been massaging my wrist with reasonably frim pressure for a few days and when I pressed the lump today it must have been enough to 'pop' it. I felt no pain, it just seemed to deflated when I pressed it. I have been told to bandage it at night and try not to use my left hand when possible and have been put on anti-inflamitory medications for a few days. The pain is now gone and the tingling has subsided although I was told it may still linger for a few days. Again than you for all your answers. I don't know what medical school would teach you the old bible fix, but it is far outdated now. There are many simple massage techniques that can be used to slowly rub the cyst out with time, many of which have been highly effective within days. The book trick has "cured" many ganglion cysts... as well it has broken many wrists and caused various other problems. There is no medically correct way to remove a cyst with a book and I recommend you look up the simple massage techniques that are readily available online and don't cause permanent damage. I'm sure Australia is different, but for my daughter it was 3500.00 and the cyst came back, which we were warned it was a possibility. If you want to save some serious cash, try this method, it was told to us by the surgeon that did the surgery, after it came back. Get a hard cover book that has a little weight to it. Lay your hand on a table, cyst side up. Either you or someone else, takes the book and smashes it down on your wrist, as hard as possible,it doesn't hurt. The cyst will pop and the fluid will absorb into your muscle. This method worked for my daughter, the cyst did not come back. Had she not been so afraid, we would have done this first, but my hubby said he'd rather spend the money. My feeling was the opposite, the surgery meant general anesthesia, and there can always be complications related to the surgery, plus the fact that it could come back, and did within six weeks of surgery. After smashing it, it has never returned, give it a try! my husband also had surgery for a ganglion cyst and it also came back all it is . it wasn't even surgery they stuck a needle inside it and drained it . it looks like clear jello .see if they can drain it with a needle or try the book trick that was given in one of your answers.good luck by the way my husband still has his on the top of his thumb but it stayed at a certain size like a nickle hasn't grew any bigger in 3 years Fisherwoman is right. The best method to get rid of it is to hit it with a heavy book. In fact that's what they taught us in med school. The cyst itself is benign which means it is harmless but not cosmeticly pleasing. Save your money. Have you considered medical treatment and surgical help for this in India? My cousin got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare in India. |
