Ever had a Ganglion Cyst?

I was wondering if anyone has had a Ganglion cyst on the wrist and had treatment for it. If so, which treatment did you have and Is it painful?

i dropped an ironing board on my foot which resulted in a ganglion cyst, when i went to the dr he said i could try surgery but it may return or get rid of it the way i got try dibursing it with a good smack or just leave it be no harm done, my response was i dont know what fred flintstone school you went to but your not smcking my foot with a book. when left alone it finally went away.

I do have one but have had no treatment for it,its only if it is painful or annoying that they treat them.

My sister had a ganglion cyst on her wrist when we were growing up. She went to the doctor for it and I don't remember what he did, but it came back.

The doctor told us that in the old days they used to think it was caused by the Devil and they used to break the cyst with a Bible. In fact it is sometimes called a Bible cyst.

Anyway, after the cyst came back, one day she was mad at me and chasing me through the house, and she smacked her arm against a doorframe and the cyst broke. She said it didnt hurt. And it never came back!

A doctor would drain the cyst with a syringe. This sounds gross but it's not that bad really, unless you're one of those people who is deathly afraid of needles. If it comes back (which it sometimes does) there is a surgical operation they can do for it, very minor and routine, relatively painless.
