I have a ganglion cyst growing between the ring finger and pinky, will this effect my guitar skills?

Will getting a ganglion cyst cut off effect my playing?
I haven't really had trouble playing with the cyst here, its just a thick little bubble

Will it effect my playing afterwards?

One of my friends had the same thing, had it cut out, & never had a problem. The cyst is usually somewhat shallow & can be aspirated with a needle. If you aren't having any numbness or tingling & you have no artery involvement, then it should be quite simple. If they have indicated a hand surgeon needs to be involved then you may have a little longer recovery time & they might have you wear a splint for awhile during recovery. Either way, you should be back playing your guitar soon.

i had a cyst removed on the top of my hand, and it has affected it's use in many ways. but mayb since we use r fingers 4 evrything u will learn how to control it. but its not too much of a big deal. its weaker than my other hand. and there its certain positions i cant put it in. but other than that its normal/ b careful after surgery. try not to hurt it. its easily done believe me! i was always bumping it into things.

I have a ganglion cyst in my wrist and I had 3 options when I found out about it.
1. Do nothing
2. Have it surgically removed
3. Have a shot or quarterzone into it, put it in a cast for 6 weeks and it should go away.

My cyst was wrapped in nerves so they couldn't do surgery but they did the shot and for some reason it didn't go totally away but it is a great ton better. My cyst went hollow and they had to rewrite medical books because of me. I was the first patient to not go away or stay the same. Go figure. I don't even know it's there unless it's really cold or I'm doing too much with my wrist.
