Still problems after an ganglion cyst removed a month ago on the wrist? |
The cyst was removed a month ago, and still have a lump and still painful. It's like it was never even removed. Could it be possible that the scar tissue is similar to the ganglion?? has this happened to anyone?? you didn't mention whether if it was surgically removed or aspirated with a needle. if it was drained/aspirated with a needle, it has about a 50% chance of recurring because ganglions are sacs filled with gelatinous fluid, so after the a while the sacs reseals and fluid reaccumulates. if it was surgically removed, then the surgeon may not have removed it at the base of the stalk (sac has a stalk that arises from between 2 bones) and thus, can recur. I know I'm a little late, but I had a ganglion cyst removed about 2 months ago (surgically) and there was still a bump and it still hurt to touch for a while. It just now started to feel better. mine still hurts to touch though. Report It they will always come back..best to leave it like it is I've heard of it happening .like when you get a arm cut off' you still have phantom arm pains even know it;s been cut off it really does happen..... |
