I have a ganglion cyst and im getting it surgically removed will i have to wear a cast? |
i know of other people who have had their ganglion cyst surgically removed and they had to wear a bulky dressing but a little after that they had to wear a cast? Removal of ganglion cysts do not usually require a cast. You will only need a bandage until it heals. I had one on the inside of my knee that was 3 inches long, 2 inches wide and 3/4 inches deep. Day surgery and I only took medication for 2 days. shouldn't you ask your doctor? yes for 4 weeks i think. Maybe, you may want to ask the doctor about that.....But most people IF IT IS SMALL, will just wear a bulky dressing...but ask??? My ganglion cyst was on the inside of my right middle finger. A cosmetic surgeon removed it. I was given Valium pre-operatively, then Versed (a sedative) during the procedure. I wore a bulky dressing for two weeks. Some physicians prefer to use a split and a dressing to keep the affected finger immobile. No, it will have a dressing on it for awhile and stitches and maybe a splint. |
