What is on my wrist? I don't think it's a ganglion cyst.?

Whatever it is it's in basically the middle of my wrist. It's only noticable when i bend my hand down. It's hard to the touch, and hurts if pressed too hard. I've had it on my left wrist since I was in 10th grade, going into my second year of college now. I asked my science teacher what it was he said a ganglion cyst, and that it would probably go away after awhile, would need surgery to be removed, or hit it with a book. But I've looked some info up on the ganglion cysts and it doesnt seem to be the same. Also about a month or two ago I noticed one on my right wrist, in the same spot as the one on my left wrist is. And last week my wrist hurt, i had to keep rubbing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I do plan on going to ask a doctor about it when I have the time, which right now I dont.

If you're really concerned about it you should make the time to go and see a doctor. Chances are it's probably nothing to be concerned about. But if it is then don't put it off any longer.

I have a bump/lump on my wrist also and I was told a couple of different things it could be-one is Tendonitis and the other was Rheumatoid arthritis and the last was a cyst! So when u find out what yours is-let me know too will you!?

I've got the same thing. There's fluid in the middle of them. The Dr. said that they inject it with a needle and draw out fluid.
Mine wasn't very big so he said it would be more painful than it was worth. Every once and a while I'll bend my wrist and hit it against the wall. Hurts for about a day then goes away. A couple cocktails help before hitting it.

How will I know what is on your wrist without my seeing it?
Bring it to my hospital and hold some hard currencies. I assure you, your problem will be solved
