Is it normal for your hand to be numb after ganglion cyst surgery?
i have surgery on mon for a ganglion cyst. but the doctor had to fix my nerves and other stuff because they were all wrap up in the dead tissue. and they stop working and wasnt working property in months. the top of my ahnd and thumb and index finger are numb is this normal after surgery? will it go away andy answers will help thanks

I had a ganglion cyst removed from my left wrist - twice. It grew back after the first surgery. Yes, it is normal to have some numbness after surgery. It took about 6 months for numb spots on my fingers and especially my thumb to go away. Nerves grow very slowly, so if they are damaged it can take a while for them to recover. Some nerves grow only one millimeter a month. I have also experienced something similar when I injured a toe.

There is still no "fix" for the nerves other than chiropractic or other alternative medicine. The problem is likely some nerves got damaged. I'm sorry to report if your doctor cut any nerves, which is likely, they won't get better.

sometimes depend how many anesthesia local injected in you hand or in some cases the anesthesiologist have done a procedure call regional block it will keep you hand numb for a while .
