What's the biggest a Ganglion Cyst has gotten.....? |
I have one on my wrist about the size of a marble....and I want to know if it'll get any bigger, and if so, how big can it get? I know that this is a different area but I had one on my back - I was having surgery on my leg and told the doctor about this funny bulge on my back so he checked it out and removed it. He said that I had a ganglion cyst that had grown really big. I have about a 3 inch scar at the top of the shoulder bone on my back and he said that he pulled it out and it was nearly the length of my back. :( I never knew I had it until I saw a slight bulge. I guess they can grow pretty darn big. Good luck to you! I had one on the back of my left wrist. It got to where it stuck up about a quarter of an inch. I don't know how big it actually was, though. I was scheduled for surgery to have it removed, but a few days before then, I banged it on something and the cyst broke and went back down and I haven't had any trouble with it again. That was when my youngest was about 3 and he's 14 now. Typicaly, they can vary in size from a small pea to a golf ball, and are the most common mass occurring in the hand or wrist. |
